Welcome to the Community Watch Canadian Judge's Registry.
The Canadian Judge's Registry has been developed as a public service and contains a listing of comments about the Judges in Canada. All members of the Canadian public, including lawyers, who have had dealings with judges either inside or outside of the courtroom are encouraged to participate in this collaborative effort by sharing their experiences and opinions about Canadian judges. We encourage readers to post both complaints and/or recommendations. Those appearing before a court in Canada are encouraged to check with the Registry and to see what other Canadians have to say about particular judges. The names of Justices of the Peace may also be included.
This registry is to allow Canadians to share their opinions based on their experiences with Judges anywhere in Canada. The purpose of the registry is to help protect the public's interest by promoting greater consumer awareness about Judges in Canada. This registry is strictly limited to the listing Judges in Canada only.
When entering information on the form, please make your comments detailed, helpful and polite and tell us why you rated the judge as you did. Try to be factual. Do not make threats against judges in this forum. Each person can submit their own complaint or recommendation, even if it is on the same issue as another person's submission but each person should only make one make one submission on each issue.
While the identity of those who make complaints and the basis of their complaints is not viewable by other members of the public, this information will be verified by Registry representatives through telephone contact with the person making the complaint. Where complaints are of a more serious nature, those who file complaints may submit documentation for filing with the Registry. All contact information for those who make submissions to the Registry will remain confidential.
To add a name of a judge to the Canadian Judge's Registry please fill out the form below.
Please note: If you are a Canadian Judge whose name appears on the Registry and feel that a complaint has been recorded against you in error or maliciously by someone acting without just cause, then you may request that your name be removed from the list. Requests to remove names should be made to: info@canadacourtwatch.com or by phone at (416) 410-4115. Should you wish to have an entry against your name reviewed, a review of your file will be conducted by a twelve member Family Justice Review Committee selected from the general public. The person who submitted the original request will also be consulted and given the opportunity to submit evidence to the Committee should he/she feel that it is in the public's interest to have your name kept on the Registry. Pleased be advised that any judge who becomes aware of their name being on this Registry and who does not request in writing that their name be removed is deemed to have accepted that their name has been posted to this list in good faith by Canadian citizens based on reasonable and just cause.
