Public meeting to be held in Muskoka concerning child protection in the region
Canada Court Watch has received an influx of calls from parents in the Muskoka region regarding claims of abuses by the workers with the Muskoka Children's Aid Society. A number of those affected have indicated that they would like to hold a public forum in the area to discuss the issues involving the CAS with others in their community and to discuss what can be done to fix the problems with the local child protection system.
Local citizens from the Muskoka region will be holding a public meeting sometime this fall to discuss the issue of child protection in the region. Location and date are yet to be determined. Canada Court Watch will be making a presentation at the event and will be providing information which will help local citizens get organized and how they can promote the administration of justice in their area. It is hoped that this event will spearhead a permanent local group to advocate for children and families in the Muskoka district.
